New Hire Reporting is a child support enforcement tool used by all states to increase child support collections. Current statistics show that only a little more than half of all parents who have agreements for child support received full payment. Another twenty percent received only partial payment, and the rest have received nothing.
In 1998, reporting newly hired or rehired employees became mandatory for all employers.
